Parcels are Byron Bay-conceived Patrick Hetherington, Louie Swain, Noah Hill, Anatole Serret and Jules Crommelin. The five-piece have signed to the typically trend-setting Kitsuné for the release of their debut EP, due 20 May, and have unveiled its title track in the shape of 'Herefore'. As you might expect from an Australian group of funk-leaning musicians now based in Berlin, it is a cut as laid-back and effortlessly cool, as it is infectious and smile-inducing. Summery guitar punctuation glimmers atop an intricate mix of synths and shaking percussion, resulting in something that manages to nod at both Daft Punk and Steely Dan without breaking a sweat. -G.O'B
